Revised: Forget "Official" Blogs

Hello World,

Today we had a social media blogging presentation where I learned we were supposed to write a minimum of one blog entry per month during our stay here at OpenText. Well since it's February already, I figured I'm behind.

So here's for making it up.
Is there a pun in there somewhere? Perhaps.

I have a personal blog myself and I post to it as often as almost never (i.e. here). It has become a neglected diary reminiscent of a leatherbound notebook of my 10 year old self - actually it was colourfully plastic but I'm trying to paint a cool word picture here, thanks honesty.

Anyway, I write stuff about goals, life lessons, movie/book reviews, etc. that I never seem to translate to real life. I have a fantastical desire for epic wins, but real life usually erodes my resolve.
I recently watched a TedTalk (awesome talks about cool diverse topics which you should all check out: http://www.ted.com/talks) that talked about games and how playing games makes us awesome and if we can translate world issues into games people will play them and gain great insights into how to resolve some of our most pressing issues. The link is on my Facebook. (I'll add this in a moment)

In any case, it got me thinking about my blogging (the very rare times that I do) and how everything I promise and say are so powerful for me at the moment of conception but never fails to fail in bringing action to fruition. If you know me well enough you would know that when I get all excited I tend to use as many words as possible to twist and turn and spin a simple sentence into a really long and unecessarily deep 3 dimensional web of words. I wouldn't even call it excited, more like full of myself and in delusion of I-don't-know-what.

Why is that, I wonder. I think I figured it out - see that delusion? - and it has to do with my voice. The voice in my head that gets really into things, that, over the internet, transposes onto every other voice I know and I don't know... in such a manner that I feel control over their actions and even more importantly my actions. That's a scary thought, it just shows that in real life I feel like I don't have much control over my actions because I feel like unnecessary things like emotions and circumstances and my general shyness and inability to TALK properly - still a problem, I nod - usually get in the way and in hindsight I never seem to be able to be what I want to be and how I see myself in this blogsphere, in the game world, in virtual reality.

Maybe - the TedTalk suggests - many of us are going through that phase. The generation immersed in games, engrossed in epic tales, of possibilities that in comparison to the real world far are more fantastical and beautiful and worthy of passion.

It makes everything in real life dull. Yet real life is real and should be the focus of our attention.

Sigh, I'll leave this to another day if the thoughts come back. The fast music in my head and on 8tracks has slowed.

(You may check out the actual blog I posted on the OpenText co-op facebook page - which hasn't been written yet. It's different (I hope) than this one because I had to rewrite to make it more appropriate and less personal.) Nope. Definitely not doing those blogs... I can't keep anything official and under security tape =(

Thanks for reading. And sorry. This really was a meaningless ramble.

Ate 6 Slices of Pizza Yesterday

Pretty much explains itself. I don't feel too good... 4 pieces at noon, 2 at night -_-

Though I'll admit the noon ones were good - thin crust and well-made - but that's company ordered so it should be decent.
Drank a cup of coffee because department head was buying... XD I guess I don't hate coffee as much as I used to. This is bad. First co-op manager's predictions are coming true??? NOOOOOO

Double Down

Today I had a double down sandwich from KFC... I was expecting it to be gigantic and heart-attack-inducing. But no, it was tiny, extremely salty (only flavour detectable) and just overall disappointing.

I had a Tim Horton's iced cap afterward, so it compensated somewhat for the tragedy - I mean I went all the way to Conestoga mall for it -.-

There was good conversation though, so I don't regret. A lot of things need to be dealt with. I'm feeling worse and worse for not dealing with things directly - out of fear or just a long-term stability of ignoring and avoiding and doing nothing... letting it go on (No for once it's not about what you're thinking of).

There's no proper way of broaching the topic without major repercussions - and maybe I just don't care enough (Again not the thing you're thinking of - because I do care enough for that one - the handicap in that situation is a fundamentally different issue).

Let's see if there will be a final straw.

The eternal white space is ever so blank.

Co-op is a strange experience.

Last work term I was very relaxed all the time. I was often told to finish something in two days that I can finish in 30 minutes. I didn't really understand at that time that they wanted you to finish in 2 days... My dad told me about a co-op whose boss told him straight up that he should just take his time and get the work done in 2 days, not earlier, thank you very much.

This work term is slightly different: I have "on" times and "off" times. By "on" I mean I get swamped to my neck. Non-stop. This lasts for 4-5 days. Then suddenly I have nothing to do. It's not that there's nothing to be done. It's that there's nothing for "me" to do... I try to ask for work, but because of the type of work I do not have the company experience to deal with it the way they wanted it to be dealt with - which is understandable. My boss also told me that I would have such "off" times and I could work on my workterm report in the mean time - which reminds me I still need to meet with her about that. Hmmm ::notes down:: This also lasts for 4-5 days... in which time I am not motivated to do anything personal either - for example, pd, because... okay, pd sucks, but besides that, probably because I still feel apprehensive about using company time for these things for an extended amount of time - a minute or two is okay (even if productive).

I need to get over that.

I realize I have a lot of unused time. But unfortunately the emotional impact on the consequences of wasting time hasn't hit yet. Maybe I just don't care, period. This would be bad, and needs to be righted. But I feel so apathetic all of a sudden. I'm having a late-teen crisis. Eeeek. Good thing I don't game as much or as mindlessly as last month. I depend on emotional impact too much...

Speaking of which, I need to make a post about gaming (and its related ills) sometime, and maybe ddr too...

Okay. Back to work.

Not Kewl Man...

USD paid using Canadian Credit Card is just NOT kewl... the exchange rate becomes 1.13 something, totally not reflecting current exchange rates...

Evil, money-grubbing bastards...

I changed my blog title...

ah yes, lay on the cynicism and eye-rolling smirks.

I squint as if such a physiological action would elicit some profound concentration or enlightenment that would unveil a hidden part of my mind and provide me with the insight necessary for comprehension...

This applies to reading, listening, and other sensory actions...

It must come from my near-sightedness and how squinting has worked (somewhat) during its earlier stages. Sigh. The trickery of memory...

first time trying this...

So evidently I can't go on gmail (I already knew that)...

But I can go on blog... I hope it's not against policy. IT will hunt me down, but then at least they will fix my PC from self-rebooting...

Okay, my home laptop and my work PC are exhibiting similar symptoms. The only connecting factor? Besides Microsoft, would be me XD. Probably just a correlation. I think.

I feel the drowning laziness coming over me as I contemplate buying a new laptop... I guess I will wait until christmas >.>

Be checking out that guitar (or many) this Friday though, should be rad. =]

I have an attention span of a five year old...

... That's probably being generous.

Anyway, I'm in CS class right now and zoning out every 5 seconds, quite literally. The voice of the prof fades in and out of my attention span; nothing is sticking. Okay, so he's talking about floats and integers in Python... i.e. boring.

But oh my goodness, I have another hour of this to go through. I need to download Python... Thoughts scattering; and thus I shall close.

Eternally Bored. And confused about life.

okay, so I need to start picking better places for blogging, but whatever I just feel like rambling on and on right now about nothing...

So I'm in calc tut, where the TA is trying so desperately to make us understand (those of us who are paying attention) exactly how to work certain questions in the new assignment. And I'm just here, trying to figure out the last question.

Quite simply, I don't effing understand, anything. At all.

-...........-

I feel like I'm losing one of my resolutions - which is to understand for the sake of learning and development - not to mechanically churn out assignments and tests like an effing memorizing machine.

So.

::goes back to being a dumbass -.- ::

P.S. goddamnit, I feel soooo fuckiiingggg discourageddddd.... SOB

I hate diagonals.

Home.

Not gonna think about anything academic anymore.

Time to get some beauty sleep... and play =)

quote of the moment:
If I say hi and you say hi back, then we're probably off to a good start.

okay, some issues again.

this should ring a warning bell sign... it's just so used by me now >.>

Anyway, so I was doing econ exam... and I had one hr left and I was like maybe I want to check over everything... I read a few q's and I'm like fuuuck this I dont care - too anticlimatic and I'm not interested in reducing my already strained sanity into more futility...

so I saw that certain person had left.

So I was like... okay I am definitely leaving, no way am I staying longer XDD Who says I need to -________-

this is the extend of my being pathetic to the max.

p.s. yay, new tag. XD

Major Effing Issues.

Okay, so this is the first weekend where I don't have a midterm to study for on monday...
but that's not saying much considering next week is the last week of classes... >.> so my prog is f'ed up. XD

But saying that just makes me feel even more stupid and useless... because I have not yet accomplished anything <.< ...

It's not that I don't want to. It's probably because I have no courage. But mostly it's because I am frozen. And I run. Yes I'm a moving snowperson >.> My humour is gone to hell recently too... so that's probably not a good sign... When that leaves me, I might as well be nonexistent.

Must drown self in sorrows by shopping until my checkbook bleeds XD no, but prolly not. XD

Anyway I'm seriously considering the chicken way out of this... to partially ease myself, but it's sooo against my dignity... >.> sigh, I dont think I have much of that left either.
But maybe that's a good thing.

Anyway, 3 more assignments + Presentation, and iz EXAM TIME.

Can't wait for first semester to be over.

Can't wait for a new beginning. Maybe then I can change.

Livejournal. Reflection 1.

I'm putting Reflection 1 because I'm assuming that I will have further reflections as I continue using the web service.

so certain person has been suckered into LJ because of a fanfic she's been avidly reading, and reminding me constantly of her addiction... indeed. =P so I decided to try it too to see if the buzz is deserved, since I've heard about it from other sources as well - and also from that certain fanfic that I've had to read occasionally under strict force by certain person.

Anyway, 3 things come to mind:

1 - way too messy. you can't really decipher between your own site and your friend's site, or your own post from random other posts... + the organization is crappy.

2 - the backgrounds are awesome. better than blogger; professional or artistic - take your pick.

3 - i hate that i can't change my site title and stuff - like I can here. i enjoy the freedom of change =P

... overall though I will definitely use blogger more, because LJ needs some more getting used to at the moment... it will be my window towards the soul of certain person then... =P

happy blogging, whatever you use.

My Next Life

I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then you start work by receiving a gold watch the first day.
You work forty years until you're too young to work.
You get ready for high school: drink, party, and you're generally promiscuous.
Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then......
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury in spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and then.......
You finish off as an orgasm.
The case is rested.

-L (but I didnt write this, of course... it's too awesome to pass up XD) hope you fellow bloggers/surfers enjoyed it XD

Something Over, Something Begins... everything f'ed

Well... I finished my AP exams last two weeks... so that's a relief. now before i can even breathe easy, I have acc summ and eng summ (thank goodness iz been pushed back to next week)

I've wasted the long weekend playing a certain RPG game... lolz... no it's not that one. i would kill myself if it was that again... haha anyway i just feel that my life is a big mary-go-round and i'm getting tired of the routine, even the stress... which used to be something out of the ordinary has now become a normality. i've been sleeping wayyy too late and waking up wayyy to late, and my body is feeling the strain - i've had a cold for 2 weeks now... a friend said i shud check for sars but i think iz just my bad sleeping and eating habits.

also, i've been drifting more and more into my other world - which i had occasionally stepped into before (esp on long bus rides, hopefully scenic)... but now i'm deeper into it and spend longer periods of time there than is healthy for a sane person, i s'pose i just need the higher dosages (no, i'm not doing drugs -_-)

and that game is not helping.

i really like something a char said tho: "I got into gambling because gambling is like life in little bursts. Life is a big gamble, you know."

I know it's nothing special or unique or new, but it's definitely a good thought to hold onto... and I just realize my left hand takes over more than half of the keyboard space.. I mean I even use my left hand to press Y as well as B... at least H is part of my right hand territory...

I wish I could still write with my left hand...

Immediate Thoughts

basically i've forgotten all of my mathematical training... i suppose one year of repose is too much for something that cannot fix in my mind at first glance... there are some stuff that do fix...

this, instead of demoralizing me - although it did do that at first - has made me see more clearly what i'm made of... and what would make me feel better in the future, i suppose. i'm not the immortal absorber of info ppl may mistake me for... although sometimes i'm surprised by certain extend of my cramming skills... for subjects that retain in my mind... and then, there's math... absolutely no retaining skill whatsoever. i've forgotten the basics and although i can grasp concepts easily at first learning, i cannot recall them to my disposal in times of need. this is somewhat a paradox, but here's the proof, alas.

but i'm just currently in a state of calm. no stress. no hurry. it's certainly not the end of the world, just a rather helpful future-reference realization. -sigh- this lack of drive is quite troubling.

anyway, i think i'll just face whatever is ahead of me. in any case, all i can think of for the past hour is the food i'm going to eat tomorrow... pizza? burgers? sandwich? greek? ionno... it seems a rather out-of-place thought process, but it will not go away, nor would i want it to... maybe this is my escapist syndrome... hmm... at least it's towards something pleasant... maybe it's just a result of my hunger at the current moment. i donno. i feel the defeat in my bones, yet i've only done so to myself... perhaps mentally closing a few more doors within myself... if there were any open in the first place. now i'm not making any sense, maybe my subconscious just likes to write and write as if there is something important to say, even though my eyes can only follow the systematic scrolling of the letters as they appear via the magic of computer keyboard... i feel dull. the knife no longer wavers, the edge no longer sharp... how i wish for it to feel keen again.

maybe i'm just feeling drowsy from my nap... -yawn- yes i actually did at this very moment. hmm, a series of moments eh. whatever just doesnt cut it yet.

i'll see.

i feel like writing again.
